Welcome to the Evidence Based Dentistry Blog for 1st year BOH students 2012.


Student contributions to this blog form part of your formative assessment for the Evidence Based Dentistry Unit for the course Professional Studies IOH. Students are encouraged to contribute weekly to blog discussion posts and to use this medium as an opportunity to:

- ask questions,
- explore topics,
- clarify any EBD content queries,
- explore what evidenced based practice means to you as an early career health professional, and
- to keep in contact with your peers and course coordinator in relation to issues around EBD.

Evidence based dentistry is a complicated subject within this course unit and many of you will find the content challenging. That is why it is extremely important that we communicate regularly during the 5 week period in which you are involved in this unit to ensure everyone comes out at the end with improved knowledge and a sound level of understanding.

Well... good luck all with this challenging but essential unit. Many students in the past have had trouble seeing the relevance to this unit in the first year context, but come 2nd and 3rd year, most are really glad that they had the opportunity to be involved.
